Brazilian midfielder is having good period on the loan spell with FC Baník Ostrava as he scored three goals so far and is considered one of the key men in starting XI.
Three goals and an assist in eight league games, plus several nominations in Team of the week, but above all, great performances. That's the current record of Ewerton, who came to Ostrava on a year-long loan from Slavia Prague, where he didn't make a significant impact due to numerous injuries last season.
"I am very happy to get used to the new environment, organisation and everything in Ostrava. I like it a lot here. After not easy beginnings, we got into good shape and we started to do well in terms of results. I guess it goes hand in hand with personal performances, so I'm definitely happy so far," says Ewerton.
"Compared to Slavia, our games are different in that we don't play against 'the wall', where the opponents more or less just defend, but here it's more open, which is always a kind of advantage for offensive players. Of course, the Czech league is quite balanced and physically demanding, but I think that this si the main difference," says the Brazilian midfielder, who has no problem playing from the wing or even in the playmaking position behind the striker.
"We are a good team, we have great fans and an excellent coaching staff led by Pavel Hapal. The people at the club are very nice, so I feel really good here. Ideally, if we could make some success, the season is practically still ahead of us, so let's go for it," says Ewerton.
As far as his personal statistics are concerned, he doesn't have a dream goal. "Hopefully I won't be stuck at three goals," he smiles. "I'm working hard to be useful for the team. Whether I score a goal or make an assist, the main thing is to help the team and make points. If those are there, then my personal numbers will also grow," he concluded.
Fingers crossed for Ewerton, he will next play against his former club FK Pardubice, where he was a guest from his time in Mladá Boleslav.
