MŠK Žilina forward is making his first step in international career. He is set to spend current season in Ekstraklasa side Górnik Zabrze, the 14-time champion of Poland, where he becomes teammate with German legend Lukas Podolski.
118 apps, 22 goals and 20 assists. With this record Adrián Kaprálik parts his ways (at least temporarily) with his hometown club MŠK Žilina, where he transferred from native Oravská Jasenice in his 14s.
After he has developed into one of the best players in the Slovak league, made debut for the national team and showed his potential in the preliminary rounds of the European Cups, the time is come to move on.
On Monday afternoon, the 21-year-old Kaprálik became a new signing of traditional Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Górnik Zabrze, the 14-time champion of the country. German football legend and Polish-born striker Lukas Podolski, who also had a hand in Kapralik's arrival, still wears his jersey.
"I am very happy to come to Górnik, which has a great tradition and great fans. I was longing for a change and I think it came at the right time. It is now up to me to confirm the expectations they put in me and to help the team to good results on the pitch. I can't wait for the first games. The Polish Ekstraklasa is a big challenge for me and the opportunity to be in a team with players like Podolski was also a big point for me," he said in his first interviews after joining Górnik.
Kapralik's name was linked with several options from different countries, the decision finally fell on Poland.
"Adrián wanted to move in his career and make the first step abroad. There were several bids from various countries, even from quality Western European leagues. However, the player himself preferred an option where he would have the best chance to play regularly, so for the moment he decided on Górnik. The clubs have agreed on a one-season loan, before which he extended current contract with MŠK Žilina for another two years till summer 2026," summed up the most important points of the player's agent Milan Lednický.
We wish Aďa good luck, goals and success in his new position.
