Sparta Prague centre-back Lukáš Štetina agrees on 4 months loan deal with Slovan Liberec. He will become free player after the season.
Well-built defender moved to north Czechia after 4,5 years spent with Czech giants Sparta Prague. Within the period, Štetina was internally awarded Best player of the team in 2018 and later he has won Czech league cup for 2019/20. Unfortunately, in the beginning of the following season, during international game, he got badly injured which prevented him from playing football for a long period.
"Sparta would stay forever in my heart. Although we are going to part now, I would always keep the best memories in my mind," says Štetina, who decided to agree with Liberec for the season´s remainder.
There have been several clubs who would like to sign Lukáš.
"I have decided for Slovan Liberec. The main point was coach Luboš Kozel, because we know each other very well from Dukla Prague and he wanted me in the team. I would be happy to pay off his belief in me with good performance and hopefully we make good results with Liberec until end of the season," added Štetina.
The loan deal was processed within Wednesday and Thursday in Prague and Liberec, respectively.
"There have been several clubs interested in Lukáš, from domestic and foreign leagues, but considering the situation and fact that Lukáš did not want to travel so far with his family, he decided for Liberec on loan until end of the season. In the summer, his contract with Sparta would be expired as well, so he becomes free player," concluded the important Milan Lednický, player´s agent on behalf of Football Service Agency.
Lukáš, we wish you good luck in new team.
